Open Austin's Work

Open Austin is a civic organization dedicated to serving Central Texans through civic design, technology, and data.

We help Central Texans access information and use technology for the public good.  In this way, residents can hold their society accountable while improving their economic opportunities.

We do this through our Communities of Civic Practice, Grassroots Civic Hacking Lab, and Civic Data Fellowship.

Civic Data Fellowship

Our Civic Data Fellowship trains the next generation of community leaders by developing technologists with no-to-low professional tech experience, building their confidence, technical competence, and collaboration through guided exploration of public data around Austin Area-specific issue areas.
